Facebook Knows Your Interacting Behavior

How much time do you spend on each article or gifs on facebook? Probably it depends upon your attention span or how much you’re interested in the related topic, right? Suppose, you see an article regarding malnutrition in some third world country. You see a little hungry boy covered in dirt, naked crying for his mother or someone who would take care of him. Now, seeing this maybe you’d ponder for a moment, just looking at the picture not touching anything on the screen at that moment and you know you care and there is a way in facebook as you know, to show your interest or care, the like button or maybe the dislike button. But, in this scenario wouldn’t it be awkward if you’d press the like or the other button! But you do care, right?
So, facebook now has found a way to know for sure whether you like or dislike the feed on your page. It has created an algorithm to calculate the amount of time you spend on that particular feed , regardless of whether you interact with it or not. So, if you just scroll past that feed then facebook would learn from the pattern that the feed doesn’t interest you or if you spend some moment on the feed then facebook would  know the pattern  and build upon the data, which types of feed’s you like.
Having said that this is some ‘Artificial Intelligence’ thing going on which would take it’s due time in getting on par with human’s ability as there are so many variable’s in this. For example- they’d have to take in account whether the user is present there or he’s gone away for some refreshment. So, anyway it is some more features they are trying to add to their arsenal.

Facebook is citing that they will roll out the new algorithm stacked update in the coming weeks. So, everyone out there get ready for some AI handling.
